I haven't done this installment in FOREVAH but I thought of something the other day - Keeks and I LOVED playing with these and I am wondering if you remember them? 

I loved the pop on piece that made the doll look like she was riding on a bicycle.  Thanks to good old ebay you can have a reunion with DP.  Find them here!!

Thanks to good old youtube I found an old 80's commercial - can you imagine being cast as this woman? I'm imagining the direction went something like... speak in the most insane put on voice you can muster up and sell sell SELL those dolly pops!  xo, Brie

Sorry to be neglecting one of my favorite segments here on the blog - I am actually keeping a list here and have some goodies stored up and ready to share! 

I had this toothbrush set - I LOVED it, especially little Wilma there who helped you get every last bit of toothpaste out of the tube!

My kids have never even seen the Flinstones!  We went to a basketball game once and the band was playing the theme song and my kids had never even heard the song.  How sad!  I can't find it on tv ever but when I was in Ireland a few years ago, it was all over tv there.   I am perplexed.

Good news however.... if you are in the market for a used electric toothbrush set from 1974, ebay is the place to be!

That's right, Friday! I like to keep you on your toes. Does anyone else remember (or better yet HAVE) Milky the Marvelous Milking Cow? I remember being quite intrigued with this toy but can't say I ever actually had one in my posession. Poor me!

First off a poor quality version of the commercial complete with the catchy song that continues to haunt my brain to the day. Sad but true....



Keely and I used to play this game ALL THE TIME. First we had to fight (yes, fight) over the divi up of the different food circles that we would choose one at a time to play on the tray. I think we were losers ;)

Why not head over to ebay and spend your life savings collecting piece by piece of this glorious game? I'm sure they'll combine shipping! xo, Brie

I honest to goodness have one of these. It's one of my very favorite things. If I were Julie Andrews singing in the Sound of Music, I would have worked him into the lyrics of that song.

This is an egg mcmuffin transformer that was a Happy Meal toy sometime in the 80's - because what is more fun than breakfast foods that transform into robots? Nothing, that's what. I am completely calling BS on its low market value btw, this guy is true treasure!

When Keely and I were younger (I'm guessing high school) a favorite trick when cleaning our rooms was to secretly unload all the random crap that had accumulated in our room and put it somewhere in the other's room. The egg mcmuffin made the rounds several hundred times. I can't for the life of me figure out why we didn't throw him in the trash, but I am sure glad we didn't!! We still hide him today. He was sitting on her chair at high school graduation, snuck inside a piece of banana cream pie, and he even travelled internationally to Ireland. You never know when he will appear but he will always make you happy when you randomly find him in a snow boot that you haven't worn for a few years.

Come to think of it, I have no idea WHERE he is right now. Keely please tell me you have him or he is hiding here in a most awesome spot? I don't want to live in a world without Egg McMuffin transformer! xo, Brie

Someone gave me the bobbing drinking bird for my birthday. The liquid moves within the body to create a constant motion seesaw effect that doesn't not require batteries. I remember being a little more than amazed by this phenomenon. Surprisingly affordable on ebay!

Who had a magic window?! I regret to inform you that I did not... such a deprived child ;) My friend had one and I thought it was pretty dang cool. You could tilt it all different ways and the liquid inside would swirl around and make crazy designs. Hours upon hours approximately 5 minutes (if you have a decent attention span) of fun! Halloween on Ebay

How great is this dress for a Belle costume? It's less than 20 dollars (ok I am now seeing shipping is a wee high) but for 35 dollars this is way better than the Cinderella I picked up at Costco!! I need to get crackin on the costumes - I love Halloween but it's a lot of work :) xo, Brie

PS the brothers have agreed to be the fast food boys :) Looks like I am making a homemade Ronald McDonald (don't expect much, I am not good at making clothes) b/c it appears Ronald McDonalds on ebay are only for the wealthy ;) I refuse to pay that for a costume!

Elf of the Shelf

My sister recommended this to me and now I am recommending this to you! It's a little a book called Elf of the Shelf. It retails for 29.95 (I got mine on ebay and it came with free shipping). The kit comes with the cutest rhyming Christmas story and a little elf doll.

The story is about this elf who watches you all day and flys home at night to report to Santa all your naughty and nice behavior. Each morning he is in a new place in your house and the kids find him in the morning. On Christmas Eve he flys home with Santa with promises to return next year around Thanksgiving.

Nothing like a mild case of paranoia to motivate good behavior! Whatever works :) xo, Brie

No idea at all what sparked this memory, but this circus set was one of my all time favorites!! I remember irreverently chewing off each of Mr. Bear's ears. Do you remember this awesome toy? xo, Brie

PS I'll weigh in on my project runway thoughts tomorrow. Hate to be a spoiler for anyone who didn't get to see it last night (me included) due to the timing colliding with the presidential debate! I avoided all tv and computer until I saw the show. What a nerd!
