Just finished this book. Really good, a nice summer on the beach kind of read. I enjoyed it very much!

Just started this and love, love, LOVE it! I have officially finished my "7 for summer" (a month and a week late for those of you doing the math) but I not stopping there. I'm going to keep going and going. I'll keep you posted on my progress and recommendations. xo, Brie

Who had a magic window?! I regret to inform you that I did not... such a deprived child ;) My friend had one and I thought it was pretty dang cool. You could tilt it all different ways and the liquid inside would swirl around and make crazy designs. Hours upon hours approximately 5 minutes (if you have a decent attention span) of fun! After a strange start to this week - I have been contemplating putting all my social networking obsessions on the back burner. There's a lot happening here on the home front that need my attention and I must choose my battles. Family is first and will always be for me.

Mailman just dropped off a package with the most fabulous gift ever inside. The timing of this message couldn't be more perfect. It's a plaque that is hanging in my kitchen now for maximum exposure and is making me so happy. A gift from one of my favorite cousins, Sara. I LOVE it, thank you!!! xoxoxoxo, Brie

I have very vivid memories of getting the party started in my room with this little piece of genius pumping up the jam. With tunes like Edelweiss, Camptown Races, and Where has My Little Dog Gone... I'm tempted to fork over the big bucks for this! xo, Brie

Auntie's Pumpkin Bars

complete with another crappy picture ;)

disclaimer: these do not appear to be part of my diet or any form of clean eating. That being said - they are beyond awesome!

pumpkin bar part

• 4 eggs


• 1 small can of real pumpkin


• 2 cups white granulated sugar


• 1 cup of vegetable oil


• 2 cups of flour


• 2 tsp baking powder


• 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon


• 1/4 tsp nutmeg


• 1/4 tsp crushed cloves

Frosting part

• 1 tiny 3 oz pack of softened cream cheese


• 1/3 cup softened butter 1 tbsp milk (I used a little more)


• 1 tbsp vanilla


• 2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar

In a large bowl mix eggs, pumpkin, oil, sugar. Add dry ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour into a greased 15x11x1 inch cookie sheet with sides. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Spread frosting on after it cools and cut into bars. Can be topped with chopped walnuts if you like. Enjoy :) xo, Brie

Guess who's back???!!! My ebay quest for the Ronald McDonald costume is going cold. I have some great plans to improvise though so do stay tuned.

Chugging along with the books...

Ok, so I sadly failed at my mission to finish the 7 books for summer. sigh. I really should have been a bit more focused in July but instead chose many an evening to enjoy some dark and stormies while listening to Yaz on the deck over reading.

I'm going to turn this frown upside down and no longer limit my recreational reading to the summer! I'm going to keep going and going, this way the "summer failure" turns to a "lifelong success". That's my story and I'm sticking to it. You can follow along with my nifty new bookshelf widget on the right!
