I love getting Mail!

I don't know how they found me here at the Cape but this just arrived in the mail just for me. I don't know why I think this is hilarious - but I do! Sorry for the blurry pic but you get the idea ;) xo, Asian Food Lover

PS I have been the worst blog reader and updater lately. My bloglines are all showing at least 10 new posts from all my favorites. I am looking forward to carving out some time tonight or tomorrow and catching up. The weather has been gorgeous here at the Cape, everyday has been a beach day and I can't resist that darn beach!

Chick Flick Central

One thing I love about the Cape is the fact that I actually get to go to see movies here. I love to see good movies and these two were keepers!

FINALLY this -so awesome, it did NOT disappoint. I think my sister, my cousin and I may have been the last women in the US to see this ;) I can't believe we actually found a theatre still playing it - lucky us!

and two huge thumbs up for this too :) I really loved this one, I have never seen the stage show but I went with some who had and liked it just as well. I need to go to Greece - that looks like my kind of vacation! Not since Muriels' Wedding has ABBA music been so awesome! I never tire of it :) If you like the music, you should definitely go see it! xo, Brie

PS blogging on location is a LOT harder than I thought it would be :-o

Sometimes it's the Little Things

Liam told me no less than 5 times yesterday that he could not WAIT until today when he could get up and have these for breakfast!!!

It does not take much to make this young man happy! I cannot WAIT for him to get up soon so I can hook him up with one of these ;) xo, Brie

Favorite Summer Song

I have really liked Jason Mraz for awhile now but this song is my all time favorite. You can mark it down as my most definite favorite for summer 08 ;) Have a listen....just over there to your right, you love it, right? I'm getting it for my ringtone tomorrow! xo, Brie

Lilly and Me

Just when I think enough is enough and tell myself I have plenty (and I mean plenty) of Lilly Pulitzer items in my wardrobe.... my subconscious eases my guilty mind and tells me there is always room for one more summer skirt. If the summer skirt in mind is trimmed in seersucker than it is a definite yes!

So one of my favorites Third Coast Preppy recently posts the entire spring line is 50% off at In the Pink by using code 0715!!!

Here she is...................

and there she goes............... :( They don't have my size boo hooo hoooo. Just wanted to pass along this great code in case you feel the need. I hear 50% off and my head starts to get a little woozy :) xo, Brie

It was a great night :)
How adorable are all these little boys holding their hats in their hands for the national anthem?

Trip to Martha's Vineyard

It's always a fun time and an exhausting day! Here are some hi lights from yesterday in my favorite mosaic maker!

I hope the NY Yankees realize what a loyal fan they have in Kev. He wears this hat everywhere and it is not a crowd pleaser in the state of Ma! He gets ribbed everywhere for it and could give a rip ;) xo, Brie

Keeks was really the one who had these - I was a little older when these came out - but I still thought they were totally AWESOME!! Truth be told, I still do! What can I say? I love mermaids :) xo, Brie

Happy Holidays!

Hope you all enjoyed the festivities of the fourth! We had a great time, it's all chronicled on http://www.monkeymemonkeyyou.blogspot.com/ so you can see :) We are all a little draggy after several late nights in a row. The kids are definitely going to bed early tonight!

I also made homemade ice cream for the party - but forgot to take pics :( I used my dad's Cuisinart ice cream maker (make sure the cylinder part is in your freezer for a good 24 hours before you make it) I never knew there were 2 styles of ice cream - a custard base and a dairy base also known as Philadelphia style. They are both delicious but the Philadelphia style (which I had never had until this weekend) is much easier to make as there is no stovetop involved! You make the base vanilla and basically add everything you like once the vanilla is at the soft serve consistency. You will need to put in the freezer for a good amount of time before you serve it.

I made 2 flavors for the party and both were a hit. I got the strawberry pretzel recipe from this site and it was delicious http://heatherbailey.typepad.com/heather_bailey/2008/06/you-scream-ice.html I omitted the cream cheese and sugar mix in b/c I forgot it. It was just as good. I bought the frozen, sliced, slightly sweetened strawberries that come in a container.
Liam suggested maraschino cherry and vanilla which is basically the jarred cherries cut in half and mixed into the vanilla base. The kids really loved it! I am definitely going to try and make some new combos this summer and will take pics next time.

I also received a gorgeous fourth of July apron in the mail from Lisagh - so so so cute!! I innocently mentioned awhile back that my wardrobe is lacking in red and blue and she took pity on me and sent me one of the nicest presents ever!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! You can check out lots of her wonderful creations here - her talents are endless! http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5144955 xo, Brie
