Of all the late night type of shows, Jimmy is by FAR my favorite. I tivo him everynight (he's on way past my bedtime at 12:30) and I fold clothes to him daily. I really think he is making me a more productive person and for that, I thank you Jimmy! xo, Brie

I love shopping on Etsy and the new vintage category has me a little giddy. My latest purchase - vintage Lilly- I'm wearing it as I type and feeling fanciful ;) I'm having a nice little Mad Men moment here. Better go make a gimlet to go with this! xo, Brie

Obsessed

We recently found out Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is on the instant queue for Netflix!! The REAL one, not the absurd remake with Johnny Depp doing a bad Carol Burnett impression. Ms. C is nothing short of obsessed. The apple does not fall far from the tree on this one -I love the original and never tire of it. It's right up there with the Wizard of Oz and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I still sing "Cheer up Charlie" whenever one of the kids is pouting. For some strange reason, they do not enjoy my song.


C's been singing "I've got a Golden Ticket " on the top of her lungs all day, everyday!

Everyone's got a favorite part - mine is a no brainer.... Violet you're turning violet! How convenient that she wore that horrific blue leisure suit to tour the factory that day! What's your favorite part? xo, Brie

Teacher Gifts

I found this great tutorial for making fabric necklaces. I am making these for the teachers (fortunately all women) as year end gifts. I used a plastic silver spacer instead of the regular plastic beads because they make them look a little more fancy shmancy. They are adustable in length so you can tie the length to your liking and virtually unbreakable. I hope they like them :) xo, Brie

Italian Ice

After some careful research and numerous taste tests.... I am here to share with you that Marinos italian ice is way better than Luigis. Marinos just tastes much better and also has that delicious crystal sugar syrup sludge on the bottom that I personally can't get enough of! The best part is, it is a 100 calorie treat! Say Hi to the Strangers

Do you enjoy small talk with strangers? I can take it or leave it, but if you love it.... buy these shoes and I guarantee you a million people will approach you and ask you if they really work!

I really need to prepare an answer for them but I'm still getting used to them and not sure! I am very tempted to tell the strangers that they helped me drop 200 lbs in 2 months. Some of my observations about my new Sketchers Shape Ups.

• I am definitely sore in my legs where I'm not normally


• they make me feel 10ft tall b/c they are like wearing lifts. Standing 5'8" since 7th grade, extra height has never held much appeal


• You will trip a lot when you first get them - take it easy, people are quick to attribute you clumsiness to alkeehol.


• start out wearing them around the house. I have had them for 2 months now and can only take them out for my 4 mile loop. Your feet definitely tire in these and that tire turns to pain right quick.


• Do NOT drink and shape up ;)
