but it's adios to Megan Joy tonight..... that was one hot mess. I like her but she can't seem to find her niche in this competition.
Even Scott was better than her last night (but only a smidge). It seems to me someone is taking advantage of Scott not being able to throw in some input on his wardrobe choice. How did you like Seacrest "challenging" Scott with "how do you know your pants are pink"? Classy Seacrest, real classy! At least the hair stylist is taking it easy on his hair this week.
So what number do I dial to fast forward this whole season and cut to the chase with the finale between Danny and Adam? xo, Brie
PS Paula please stop dancing to every song.... you're starting to look like Ramona. xoxoxo
I LOVE candles by Illumination! Just ONLY found out today that they are going OOB. Another one bites the dust.... it's getting depressing. It's slim pickins over there but they are having a blow out of closing sale. All of the "biggie" jars were gone in my favorite scents but I was able to get a few of the medium jars for 6.75 (marked down from 18!!) I also picked up a few wall plug ins for 2.80 says they last for 4-6 weeks and I always have a few rooms that could use some discreet freshening ;) Run don't walk to Illuminations and use code 999201406 for an additional 25% off your entire order! xo, Brie
I only like putting a vase of flowers or lighting a great candle in a CLEAN room so this is always great incentive to keep on top of things :D
One of my favorite, low pressure, just fun holidays - plus green is my favorite color :) Corned Beef about to go into the crock pot for sandwiches tonight, Guinness in the fridge, life is good :)
Enjoy one of my ipod faves that will be playing in the background today! xo, Brie
Edit: Corned Beef sloppy joe Recipe
rye bread, thinly sliced corned beef, swiss cheese, coleslaw, and russian dressing - THE BEST! You can see our pics from last year here
but none the less hilarious. If you can hang in there to minute 2:20 you will see for yourself. I love Best Week Ever on VH1! Always delivers the funny. xo, Brie
I'm in full business mode this week :) All braided headbands are on sale for 10 dollars each throughout March. I added a bunch of new combos yesterday. These make great Easter basket goodies xo, Brie
PS I am watching Real Housewives of NYC - you've gotta love Simon and Alex. Nothing like 2 lunatics in love. I'm so happy they found each other! :) Ramona is under the impression that she is an awesome dancer which I find so funny and Luanne needs to stop with the chin chin toast - so lame! I'd have wine coming out of my nose if someone said that! Perhaps I am immature :)
Don't buy stock in Dif just yet.... I have a new best friend!
You should see the headway I'm making! This baby is awesome. I still have the annoying back part of the border sticking but this makes the color part peel off in huge 3 feet strips which is a major improvement over what was happening last week. I still have a ridiculous road ahead of me in this project. Stay tuned :) xo, Brie
It has come to my attention that someone has been fiddling with my camera but I am not sure who it is. Here are some facts I have gathered regarding the culprit.
It appears to be someone who likes their chin
and also doesn't mind a nose close up
seems to be a dog lover
and a fan of Wow Wow Wubzy
After close analysis I am 99.9% Gene Simmons is the responsible party. Camera is now up high :) xo, Brie
I'm watching After the Final Rose Part 2 as I type this (which is a TOTAL ratings ripoff so in case you "missed" it, you really "missed" nothing)
I'm left feeling indifferent about Idol for the third week in a row. She's in for sure I hope he's in... (again I'm nervous b/c I actually voted for him last night and got through every single time)
and the last one is a toss up for me. I'm guessing it will be this guy? He got a lot of air time in the preview shows. He is legally blind, and seems like a very very nice guy, but I'm going to say it... I don't think he has that great of a voice. At least last night he didn't that's for sure. I did like how he gave Seacrest a little b busting last night and asked for a high five after the audition debacle.
In case you missed it.... xo, Brie
PS Olivia Newton John totally let me down last night and sang a terrible Meatloaf song. WHAT!??!?! He did such a cool unplugged Disturbia during auditions. He needs to do stuff like that every time.
As promised yesterday.... a glimpse into my little slice of purgatory. You may remember a while back when I laid out the plans for my youngest daughter's room makeover. Good God that was over a year ago! Needless to say I haven't done a thing.
Motivation struck just this past weekend and I decided I would tackle the Laura Ashley border that goes around the room at TWO levels. What a mess.... this border did not come with the handy self adhesive, it required PASTE to apply. It seems to me Laura Ashley had some major plans to not go down without a fight b/c this is hard as heck to remove.
Exhibit A:
I lightly scored the area with one of those rolly scoring tools, spray Dif on it, wait 20 minutes and then go up to have at it. This freaking paper is coming off in square inch sections and leaving the paper backing behind for fun. I am done 1/8 of the room and almost a whole bottle of Dif. (not sure if the company is public or not but I suggest you buy some stock, I'll be buying it by the case)
Exhibit B:
teeny tiny scraps of paper tortuously coming off. I look like a paper mache project gone horribly wrong as I am covered with tiny bits of sticky paper. At this pace I predict I will be finished approximately in 2016.
Does anyone have any good wallpaper removal tips? Your paper mache friend here is all ears :) xo, Brie
I'm officially rising from the ashes of a most unproductive last week. I'm back with vengeance :)
Menu planning is complete....
Monday - spaghetti and meatballs
Tuesday - sandwiches and fruit (cleaning ladies are coming :)
Wednesday - Hamburgers - tonight I have to be in about 10 places at once, should be fun!
Thursday - fried chicken
Friday - homemade mac and cheese (meat free meal for Lent)
Saturday - date night! Dinner out and Slum Dog Millionaire (can't wait to see this!)
Sunday - Pot Roast
In other news:
Snow day today!!!! We are expecting 6-12 inches - love it!
I am working on a particularly hellish project. I'll tell you more about tomorrow - I'm pretty sure I'm in Purgatory on this one
Remember that fabulous little sock monkey I hosted at the Cape this summer? Well, he's officially a celebrity and even has a fan page on facebook. Won't you join him? I'd love to see him with 100 fans by the end of the month!!!! Click here to join :)xo, Brie
