Tipping outside of a restaurant or hair salon has always been a tremendous source of stress for me!
I am currently trying to figure out how much to tip the pizza delivery guy... I have read a lot of little online articles on the subject but I'm taking it to the streets and would love some advice here. Do you tip on the total or just give a certain amount?!?! I have no clue what I am doing here! Help! xo, Brie
I found this but have no idea...... http://tipthepizzaguy.com/
PS today I had to take Liam to a pulmonologist (office is in our local hospital)- the parking lot was full. My choices were to valet (which you have to pay for) or to drive around for hours to find a street parking lot about 12 blocks from the hospital. I chose to valet paid the fee but then I didn't have any singles to tip the guy. He was definitely waiting for something and I felt like a crumb. I don't quite get why they get a tip though? It was literally feet away from where we were standing (they get their own special parking lot right there)! I have been stressing about it pretty much all day.

I'm all about the rounded off final total to the $.00, and I feel with delivery guys about 10 - 15% is usually good. So if a pizza is $15.38, I'll tip $2.62. If it's $22.85, I'll probably give $3.15. I don't really care, just as long as the final total ends in double zero.
I'm a bit weird that way.
The pizza guy site seems to have good advice about the pizza buy tip. As for the valet park guy, stop stressing about it. If you had cash handy you would have tipped him. So, oh well. It won't kill him, and you probably don't frequent that place anyway.
In Australia you are not expected to tip unless the service was AMAZING (their wages are a lot higher than ours)-definitely something I will miss!
I do $3. That's my standard! I gave you a little award on my blog today!
I too tip the pizza guy 3.00, unless I'm really really hungry and then he appears to be a God and then I give him a vital organ and about 100.00. Fortunately I only have pizza delivered about twice a year. It can get kind of expensive.
With the valet guy I wouldn't feel bad. Like Kathi D. said you probably don't frequent the valet stand at the hospital. Don't sweat it.
I do 2 bucks plus a dollar for each pizza.
