Mother's Day Tea

My last one (sniffle) for Pre K anyway, Ms. C will officially be a kindergartner next year! We had a lovely hour of songs, lunch, and celebration. The kids did a great job and no party is complete without a foam crown, I think I'll wear this throughout the month of May! Great Day!

I wore one of my favorite denim dresses from the Isaac Mizrahi line that I picked up at Target in the fall. If anyone told me they liked my dress, I immediately revealed that I bought the dress from Target! Why do I do that??? I can't seem to resist revealing all my bargain shopping ;) xo, Brie

PS The stencil is coming along.... I omitted the third layer on the 2nd and 3rd flower (would put some dots in the center of the flower and accents on the petals) I kind of like them the way they are so I am still deciding. Any thoughts?

You never mentioned you were gorgeous!

For the stencils, if possible of course, I would do the first layer of all of them around the room, then follow with the second layer on flower #1 all around the room, then flower #2, flower #3, etc. I hate to switch back and forth between layers like that. I find that if I do one layer often enough (like around a room) you pick up speed and the project gets down faster.

Just my two cents! :)

Jules you are very kind :)

I totally agree with your stencil techniques - makes it soooo much faster. This is a weird one though, they are all vertically shaped and I just don't have the spacing down yet. Hopefully I'll get there and figure out something more speedy! It's really only 2 wall lengths b/c one wall is mostly a window and the other wall is dominated by closets.

Yep, spacing is the hard part when there are so many parts and pieces! (That's why all my stencils have been simple!) ;)

It will look pretty no matter how you do it!

You so leave us hanging! How is this project progressing?

I'm almost done the stencil - things have been so hectic around here this past month. I'll take some pics tomorrow. I still need to order a new quilt which I already picked out
